“God’s Guest List: Welcome and Inclusion in the Gospel of Luke”

Sometimes, the lines drawn between “God’s people” and the rest of the world have been drawn far too tight. As a result, many feel they could never belong—not because of what God says, but because of what they’ve done, or who they are. That’s not the impression God intended. His grace was always meant to reach farther than people might imagine.

At Lincoln Road Bible Chapel, we’re diving into a new message series: “God’s Guest List.” It’s all about the theme of welcome and inclusion in the Gospel of Luke. We’re exploring how Jesus broke expectations—reaching out to outcasts, foreigners, sinners, and all the people religion often pushed away. People who were ignored, written off, or simply not seen as “the right kind.”

Jesus’ mission mandate was founded on earlier themes of God’s sovereignty, generosity, and universal kingship. Through encounters unique to Luke’s Gospel, we’ll walk with Jesus as he touches lepers, dines with tax collectors, uplifts foreigners, and embraces the unforgiven. His parables—the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son, and others—shine a spotlight on a God whose kingdom is open to all.

Jesus didn’t just leave the door open. He went looking for people who thought they were too far gone—and invited them in.

And we’d love to invite you. Our series runs from mid-June to mid-August, every Sunday morning from 10:00 to 11:30. Come as you are. Ask questions, explore, or just listen in. If you’d rather chat one-on-one, we’re just a message away.
